Frequently Asked Questions
-
What can I expect in my first session?
In our first meeting, we will do what’s called an intake session. I’ll go over informed consent, confidentiality, the structure of our sessions, etc. (forms that you have signed beforehand). Then I’ll ask a series of questions to get to know more about you and your story.

What is telehealth?
Telehealth is basically virtual therapy. I send you an invitation link and we meet in a video call. In order for us to meet virtually, you must be physically located in the state of Oregon.
-
I'm in a different state/country. Can you be my therapist?
Unfortunately, I am only able to see clients who are located in the state of Oregon, per licensure requirements.
-
I'm a teen. Are you going to tell my parents what we talk about in session?
Your well-being remains my top priority, and that includes your privacy. Whatever we talk about in our sessions will remain confidential—however, there are limits to confidentiality that I may need to share such as legal or safety concerns.
While I do meet with your parents on a regular basis (to talk about ways to better support you), I want to assure you that I will always ask for your permission before sharing any themes that I think might be valuable for your parents to know.
-
How long will I need therapy?
The duration of therapy varies for each individual, depending on their own needs and goals.
